Congratulations to Earlton resident, Debbie Demers who received the Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award for her outstanding volunteer work on Tuesday, March 29, 2016, during a conference held in Thunder Bay, Ontario.

Debbie is a valued member of Earlton RV and for over 25 years she has actively donated her time to numerous groups, events and causes throughout the area. Debbie sets the bar high as a benevolent leader and respected member of our community. Some of Debbie’s noteworthy volunteer work includes participation with the following organizations:

  • Earlton Lions Club
  • Armstrong Township Public Library
  • La Fondation Communautaire du Temiskaming
  • Pariosse St-Jean-Baptiste d’Earlton
  • Earlton Steam Show

The Governor General’s Caring Canadian Award recognizes recipients who have made significant contributions to their community, in Canada or abroad through volunteering their time and efforts. The award also fosters awareness of the valuable contributions made through volunteerism and its importance as part of our Canadian character.
